Golf is one of the least diverse sports in Edmonton — ACB women are almost entirely absent from it, not for lack of interest, but for lack of a starting point.
When African Women Talk (WAWT) is building that starting point ourselves. Before we can invite the wider Edmonton golfing community to an annual tournament, we need a foundation of ACB women who already play. That foundation is the Her Legacy Ladies Golf Initiative — and this fundraiser is what makes it possible.
A structured, beginner-friendly 12-week season that takes women from their very first swing to confident, course-ready golfers — in three phases.
Driving Range Lessons
Professional group instruction on grip, stance, and swing basics. No course play yet — just building confidence, one swing at a time.
First Rounds on Course
A warm-up lesson each week followed by 9 holes on the course — first real rounds in small groups, focused on etiquette and pace of play.
League Play & Celebration
Structured weekly formats — scramble, best ball, stroke play — a guest invite round, and a closing celebration to mark what they've built.
This fundraiser isn't a one-off — it's the first step of a plan that ends with an annual, city-wide golf tournament raising funds for WAWT and welcoming all of Edmonton to play with us.
